Chalcedony boulders make a lovely solid clinking sound when hit against dolerite.

• Large piece of chalcedony ( butterscotch colour).
• thin strands of “common opal” (silvery) are commonly found in these chalcedony seams

Tide was only just low enough to get safely there and back.

Observations:

Chalcedony seams run perpendicular to the lava reefs. So much happening around 40Mya.

Dark basaltic lava reefs projecting seaward from Charles Darwin Cliff area
