Where we sat was quite cool spot getting katabatic cool air falling down from Taroona park.

Waves calming, firm, small bursts along the sand. Discontinuous, softly dumpy+shushing.

Met at the picnic table south of the Bathing Pavilion. Drew from on high on the grassy slope and around the table looking at maps. Then moved down to south end of beach and communed with the kelp gulls in the large rounded dolerite rocks.

Observations

Pat talked about the rocks of the Alum Cliffs , which accumulated around 250 million years ago (Permian).

(“Alum’ is not anything to do with aluminium - more a reference to a broad group of chalky compounds).
